We’re excited to introduce the Amahj Foundation Tile Set, thoughtfully designed for new players, learners, and anyone who wants a clearer, more approachable way to play American Mahjong. Ideal for teaching kids, families, elders, and first-time players, this set makes learning the game intuitive, welcoming, and fun.
Crafted from 100% acrylic, these tiles are laser-cut and stamped with our signature Amahj design—reimagined for beginners. Each tile is clearly labeled, with large, bold numbers and letters for enhanced visibility and ease of recognition. Suits are consistently designed across the set, making it even more obvious how tiles relate to one another and helping players learn patterns faster and with more confidence.
What makes this set truly special is the inclusion of our exclusive 3-Level Amahj Learning Card, designed to grow with the player:
- Beginner Level: 10-tile hands to introduce basic gameplay and combinations
- Intermediate Level: 12-tile hands to build strategy and familiarity
- Traditional Level: 14-tile hands for full American Mahjong play
No NMJL card is required.
We also offer two ways to play:
- Traditional Mahjong setup and play
- A simplified, quicker setup that removes some of the more confusing elements, allowing players to focus on learning and enjoying the game
Every Amahj Beginner Set includes a signature carrying case, the 3-Level Amahj Learning Card, and a quick-start pocket guide.
Each set includes 160 tiles, measuring 1” x 1 7/16” x 7/16”, shrink-wrapped and containing:
- 108 tiles of Bams, Cracks, and Dots numbered 1–9 (four of each)
- 16 Wind tiles
- 12 Dragon tiles
- 8 Flower tiles
- 10 Joker tiles
- 6 Blank tiles
